A lot of them built for the Preliminary Round, which has the theme of &#8220;Villain&#8221; going for it. There are a lot of interesting takes on the theme, creative building designs, and overall cool creations. Our LUG really had a great output, and many have processed to the next round.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier;\">The One Percent by Mucus Drizzle<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a title=\"The One Percent\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/169930205@N05\/52957063469\/in\/gallery-lordoblivionthegreat-72157721837042335\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52957063469_b56cfb1dbe_z.jpg\" alt=\"The One Percent\" width=\"522\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This is a clever way of villainizing the rich. The suit is sleek but simple, and I like the imagery of the houses in the palm of his hand, as he&#8217;s obviously controlling the real estate market. The money and smokestacks also sell the theme.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier;\">Neonatal Harvester by Cody Avery<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a title=\"Neonatal Harvester\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/codyaverydesign\/52956637206\/in\/gallery-lordoblivionthegreat-72157721837042335\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52956637206_56cce6b12f_z.jpg\" alt=\"Neonatal Harvester\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Machines entrapping people like this is not uncommon in BioCup, but this MOC does a really good job of selling the deed, with the mechanical body of the machine paired with the organic tentacles. The green vats also stand out; those babies never stood a chance.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier;\">Omnidroid by Aiden Builds<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a title=\"Omnidroid\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/aidenbuilds\/52955778059\/in\/gallery-lordoblivionthegreat-72157721837042335\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52955778059_f651bb7eb8_z.jpg\" alt=\"Omnidroid\" width=\"640\" height=\"412\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Recreating this classic Incredibles enemy must&#8217;ve been quite the challenge, as it was mostly circular with tube arms. But the shapes managed to be pulled off here and it&#8217;s instantly recognizable. Impressive.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier;\">Oni Lloyd by Woomy World<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a title=\"Oni Lloyd\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/woomyworld\/52950517669\/in\/gallery-lordoblivionthegreat-72157721837042335\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52950517669_9984b9887b_z.jpg\" alt=\"Oni Lloyd\" width=\"640\" height=\"512\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t often see Ninjago themed entries, so this is a treat. The Oni himself has some very striking design choices, from the chest to the hair. But the fabulous designs of the golden weapons are my favorite parts.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier;\">Dr. Gila by MySnailEatsPizza<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a title=\"Dr. Gila\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/127157515@N07\/52948180954\/in\/gallery-lordoblivionthegreat-72157721837042335\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52948180954_3f8ea72693_z.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. Gila\" width=\"640\" height=\"512\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This guy has some clever design choices. I thought at first that the kraata container containing the brain would be the best feature, and then I realized his torso is also transparent and showing his innards. Very impressive.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier;\">Prince of the Void by Calcifer_project<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a title=\"Prince of the Void\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/147190289@N04\/52955229843\/in\/gallery-lordoblivionthegreat-72157721837042335\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52955229843_5631928596_z.jpg\" alt=\"Prince of the Void\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This guy has a lot of cool elements from his head to his chest and thighs, but dang if those wings don&#8217;t impress the most. Great use of so many of them, it looks very solid!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier;\">MadVillainy by Kat&#8217;s Koncepts<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a title=\"MADVILLAINY\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/146387464@N06\/52931385735\/in\/gallery-lordoblivionthegreat-72157721837042335\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52931385735_8e2a8161da_z.jpg\" alt=\"MADVILLAINY\" width=\"640\" height=\"499\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>These characters are quite simple, mostly shaped by the large capes. But the unique helmet designs and overall structure of the scene around the caldron really pulls the whole thing together. I like the mix of the fly parts with cowboy aesthetics. And hey, the Humungousaur had returns, although with some additions this time.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier;\">Elite Serrator by Mitch Henry<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a title=\"Elite Serrator\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/_czq_\/52950211854\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52950211854_42288be327_z.jpg\" alt=\"Elite Serrator\" width=\"640\" height=\"599\" \/><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>There are a lot of interesting pieces used here, from the Galidor armor to the various tentacles and gear elements. The armor includes some interesting bits, like the dragon and wolf skulls on the arms and torso.
